Career History
Mr. Tatar, 55, is chairman of the board of MeadWestvaco Corporation.
Previously, he served as chairman, president and chief executive
officer of The Mead Corporation.
Mr. Tatar began his career with Mead in 1973 as operations research
analyst and was promoted to manager of operations research in 1974.
In 1975, he was named a planner in the corporate planning department
and held that position until 1977 when he was appointed director of
marketing for the Paperboard Products division. In 1979, he
moved to Atlanta, GA, as general manager, strategy and new ventures,
for the Packaging division and was named general manager, brewery, in
1980. He was named president of the Gilbert Paper division in
Menasha, WI, in 1981. Mr. Tatar assumed the newly created
position of corporate vice president marketing, in 1985 and was
appointed president of the Fine Paper division in 1986. He was
promoted to vice president-operating officer of Mead in 1994, and, in
1996, the Board of Directors elected him president and chief operating
officer. Mr. Tatar was elected chairman, chief executive officer
and president in 1997.

From Oxford
Take 73 East to South Route 177
(Hamilton-Richmond Road) Turn right. Go through Darrtown and into
Hamilton. Cross over the High Street Bridge. The second traffic light is
Front Street. Turn left. The Hamiltonian is one block down on the left.
