Chairman’s Corner The Ohio Section of TAPPI wraps up the year of 2002 with what I think is our best dinner meeting on so far. Our guest speaker will be the current Chairman of the Board for MeadWestvaco, Jerry Tatar. Jerry, who is always an entertaining speaker, will enlighten us on "The State of the Paper Industry". It will also be Mill Managers Night, as Ohio TAPPI is inviting mill managers to be our guests at this meeting. Thanks to Roger Bartz of RMT for putting the program together. Also, a special thanks to those organizations sponsoring our meeting. We all have seen the paper industry evolve over the years, sometimes almost on a seemingly daily basis. With all of these changes, one area that we must preserve is our history. The Ohio Section of TAPPI is located in an area rich in the history of papermaking. Our first meeting of 2003 will be on January 16 and will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore the proud heritage of papermaking in the area. It will be Past Chairman’s night, as Ohio TAPPI is inviting all of the section’s past chairmen to attend the meeting. We will once again meet at the Hamiltonian Hotel. Please check our website, www.ohiotappi.org during the coming weeks for additional information. In closing, the Ohio Section of TAPPI is here to help increase the knowledge of our industry for our customers, YOU. Please feel free call me or to contact me by e-mail and share your thoughts on the way the organization is going and what you would like to see happen or if you would like to volunteer. Eric Eisert |
